Pablo Sandoval Signs With Staten Island FerryHawks Of The Atlantic League

Former San Francisco Giants star Pablo Sandoval signed with the Staten Island FerryHawks on April 6

The Staten Island Ferry Hawks signed former MLB All-Star and World Series hero Pablo Sandoval on April 6 ahead of the 2024 season. 

Sandoval helped the San Francisco Giants win three World Series titles and was the 2012 World Series MVP. He has 153 career home runs and was a career . 280 hitter in the majors. 

Known the as the Kung Fu Panda, Sandoval went back to San Francisco this spring in hopes of making the team and returning to the major for the first time his since his stint with the Atlanta Braves in 2021. He failed to make the team and was released. 

Sandoval played with the Giants from 2008-2014 before signing a five-year $ 90 million deal with the Red Sox. He struggled in Boston who released him in 2017. 

Now he'll start the season with the Staten Island FerryHawks of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.

When Is The 2024 MLB Draft?

The 2024 MLB Draft is part of MLB All-Star week and will be in Arlington, Texas, where the World Series champion Texas Rangers are hosting the All-Star Game. 

The All-Star Game is July 16. The official date of the draft has yet to be announced, but the 2023 MLB Draft began the Sunday before the All-Star Game, which was played on Tuesday.
