The Kubota College Baseball Series Weekend 3 has a lot of live up to after the first two weekends gave college baseball fans some of the best games of the 2024 season so far.

With two teams ranked in the top 10 of the most recent polls coming to Globe Life Field this week, it just might happen.

The final weekend of the College Baseball Showdown comes to a close from March 1-3 when No. 5 TCU Baseball, No. 8 Texas A&M Baseball, Arizona State Baseball and USC Baseball arrive in Arlington, Texas.

They have tough acts to follow after Tennessee, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oregon, Nebraska and Baylor opened the three-week event with nine competitive games. Oklahoma upset No. 9 Tennessee in extra innings.

In Weekend 2, Arkansas and Oregon State and then Arkansas and Oklahoma State played two of the best games of the season so far this season. Even in going 0-3, Michigan Baseball’s near upset of Arkansas on Feb. 25 was almost the best game of the weekend.

Weekend 2 also saw Arkansas pitcher Hagen Smith flirt with the all-time single-game strikeout record when he struck out 15 batters in 5.0 innings against No. 3 Oregon State. He finishes with 17 in 6.0 innings.

The next night, Oklahoma State used a squeeze bunt in the 14th inning to stun No. 2 Arkansas.

This week, Texas A&M starts the week having outscored opponents 80-8. The No. 8 Aggies and No. 8 TCU are both 7-0 and will look to arrive in Arlington with matching 8-0 records after both play on Feb. 27.

USC is off to a slow start after having begun the season 0-5, but the Trojans– who have 12 national championships– have won two games in a row. Arizona State is 5-3 with a win over a then-ranked Kansas State team on the resume.
