The GLIAC Baseball Tournament takes over Jackson Field in Lansing, Michigan, from May 8-11. Six of the conference's teams qualified for the double-elimination tournament, led by top-seeded Davenport.

The Panthers earned the No. 1 seed thanks in part to an outstanding 16-2 mark against Division. II competition over the final month of the regular season. Davenport held off Grand Valley State to claim the GLIAC regular-season championship, thanks in part to when the Panthers' took 3-of-4 from the Lakers in a March series.

GVSU, meanwhile, is the GLIAC Baseball Tournament No. 2 seed. The Lakers are red-hot heading into Lansing with 10 consecutive wins.

The GLIAC Baseball Tournament's other four qualifiers will look to unseat the front-running Panthers and Lakers, as action begins May 8. The GLIAC champion will be crowned on Sunday, May 11.

GLIAC Baseball Tournament 2025 Teams

Here are the six teams competing in the GLIAC Baseball Tournament:

No. 1 Davenport Baseball

2025 Record:  38-13, 22-3 GLIAC

What to Know: Starting pitcher Keegan Batka has been nothing short of dominant for Davenport. The right-hander sports a 2.18 ERA, .94 WHIP, and .196 opponent batting average through his 74 1/3 innings pitched this season. He's also struck out 81.

Batka heads up an all-around excellent Panthers starting pitching rotation. Austin VanderMarkt has yet to take a loss in 2025, going 6-0 over his 10 starts with a 3.96 ERA. Adam Berghorst rounds out the rotation with a 7-2 record, 40 strikeouts, and a .255 opponent batting average.

At the plate, Justin Johnson powers the Davenport offense with team-bests of nine home runs and a .330 average. He's one of six Panthers batting at least .324 in a minimum of 140 at-bats. Davenport has parlayed its collective ability to get on base into steals, with 99 swipes as a team through the regular season.

No. 2 Grand Valley State Baseball

2025 Record: 39-10, 18-6

What to Know: The Lakers come rolling into the GLIAC Baseball Tournament winners of 10 straight, overlapping with an impressive seven-game hitting streak for All-GLIAC performer Jonas Gulbrandsen. That run includes four multiple-hit outings, with his regular season ending on a crescendo with three- and four-hit games against non-conference foe Upper Iowa.

Gulbrandsen's .356 average leads the Grand Valley batting order, and his 13 home runs are among the best in NCAA Div. II. He's one of six Lakers with at least 150 at-bats to hit .307 or better. That group includes Jovan Gill, who has nine home runs, and Ryan Dykstra, who's hit eight.

Collin Bradley and Jayden Dentler anchor the Lakers' pitching rotation, each sporting ERAs of less than 3.00 heading into the postseason.

No. 3 Wayne State Baseball

2025 Record: 24-26, 12-12

What to Know: Wayne State picks up in the postseason where it ended its regular season, opening the GLIAC Baseball Tournament against Parkside. The Warriors and Rangers split their four-game set to close the regular season, culminating in a 12-2 Wayne State win that featured a three-hit, three-RBI effort from Caleb Sanders.

Sanders is one of four Warriors hitting .323 or better in at least 133 at-bats. All four have also stolen at least 11 bases. The quartet is Sanders (.323, 11 steals in 11 attempts); Mason McGuire (.344, 15-of-16 steals); Jacoby Dale (.331, 13-of-16); and Bennett Hitzelberger (.349, 14-of-15).

Wayne State's effective brand of small-ball has resulted in 81 steals, the second-most in the GLIAC.

No. 4 Parkside Baseball

2025 Record: 29-19, 12-12

What to Know: Parkside is a serious threat to run through the GLIAC Baseball Tournament -- and run is the operative word when describing Rangers standout Peter Fusek. With 35 stolen bases, Fusek is the conference's most prolific base-stealer and has the 15th-most swipes in NCAA Div. II.

Fusek is also one of two Rangers batting north of .400, joining Owen Brock. Brock is connecting at a .412 pace, while Fusek is batting .436. Both are easily clearing 1.000 in OPS and slugging north of .550. Dylan Sayles is also slugging better than .550 at .557 and has 36 RBI, second among all Parkside batters behind only Brock.

Starting pitchers Sam Mommer and Noah Gerritson have combined for 113 strikeouts in 113 combined innings of work.

No. 5 Saginaw Valley State Baseball

2025 Record: 29-20, 11-13

What to Know: Versatile sophomore Lucas Mead powers Saginaw Valley State into the GLIAC Baseball Tournament. His bat gives the Cardinals a chance to break through the league field, as Mead comes into the postseason connecting at a whopping .441 clip.

Mead's four home runs, 44 RBI, and 10 stolen bases also led the Cardinals. Ryan Jarvis, who's hitting .328, has doubled 16 times and driven in 33 runs.

SVSU broke out of a late-season slump with a pair of wins over Purdue Northwest ahead of the GLIAC Baseball Tournament, thanks in part to pitching-by-committee. Seven Cardinals held Purdue Northwest to two runs in the regular-season finale, shut down by one of the conference's premier closers, Jake Shelagowski. If SVSU is in a position to close it out, Shelagowski is equipped to seal it.

No. 6 Roosevelt Baseball

2025 Record: 15-35, 5-19

What to Know: A 3-1 series win over Purdue Northwest sealed conference newcomer Roosevelt's place in the GLIAC Baseball Tournament. The Chicago-based program makes the trek to Lansing with one of the league's most consist hitters en two, James Berry.

Berry is batting .399 in 189 at-bats and has produced a 1.019 OPS. He's also one of two Lakers with a double-digit total of stolen bases, joining 2024 NAIA All-American Kekoa Ogawa. Ogawa doubled as a pitcher last season but has settled in primarily working at the plate and in the field.

Pitching duties for Roosevelt have primarily rested on Keagan Bobbitt, Omar Abuelhija, and Kaden Foran. The three have started 30 games combined and worked more than 150 innings, but all have ERAs above 5.00.
