Tenneseee Baseball took the lead on Texas Tech with an opposite field home run while pitcher AJ Russell sat down 10 in 4 innings.

Tennessee infielder Billy Amick, a returning All-American, introduced himself to Tennessee Baseball fans in the top of the fourth inning when he hit his first home run of the season at Globe Life Field on Feb. 16. 

Amick transferred to No. 9 Tennessee from Clemson and debuted in the night cap of the Vols massive top-25 showdown against No. 21 Texas Tech in the night cap of the College Baseball Showdown.


He gave the Vols a 2-0 lead with a opposite field home run.

Billy Amick Is The Son Of A Former NASCAR Driver

Amick is on the Golden Spikes Award watch list and was preseason All-SEC. As a Clemson Tiger he helped the team win the ACC Championship and hit .413 with 37 runs and 13 home runs and slugged .772. 

His dad Lyndon Amick was a NASCAR driver. 

Tennessee Pitcher A.J. Russell With 10 Ks In 4 innings

Tennessee starter A.J. Russell allowed one hit and struck out 10 in four innings. An All-American releiver, Russell is in the rotation and looking the part of an ace. He was 2-0 with a .89 ERA in 30.1 innings last season.
