2022 Frontier League Power Rankings

Wild Things Getting Comfortable In Top Spot

The Washington Wild Things remain arguably the hottest team in the Frontier League and, as such, remain on top of FloBaseball's league power rankings.

1) Washington (52-26) (Last Week: 1)

The Wild Things had won six straight before that streak was snapped on Sunday with a 9-6 loss in Gateway. Washington has the league's best record overall, is 34-17 against West Division opponents, 28-11 at home and 24-15 on the road.

2) Schaumburg (43-34) (Last Week: 8)

OK, Boomers! Schaumburg, along with Washington, is one of just two teams with wins in eight of its last 10 games. That includes a nearly clean slate this past week against Joliet and Windy City, as they took five out of those six games.

3) Ottawa (46-32) (Last Week: 2)

In second place in the East Division, the Titans are ahead of Quebec in these power rankings by virtue of taking two out of three games against them this past weekend to close the gap to just three games in the actual standings.

4) Quebec (49-29) (Last Week: 3)

Once the league's clear powerhouse, the Capitales have slowed down over the last few weeks, finally snapping out of an eight-game losing streak by splitting their six-game slate this past week against both Tri-City and Quebec.

5) Tri-City (43-34) (Last Week: 5)

Yes, the ValleyCats are on a three-game winning streak, but that's only after a clean sweep of the lowly Greys. Quebec took two out of three against them in the previous series, which keeps them in the fifth spot in the rankings.

6) Joliet (39-38) (Last Week: 10)

Joliet recovered from a tough series in Schaumburg to sweep Evansville at home, getting them back over the .500 mark for the season.

7) New York (42-35) (Last Week: 4)

The Boulders fall a few spots after splitting their six games , taking two out of three in Ottawa, but dropping two out of three at home against Trois-Rivieres.

8) Trois-Rivieres (42-36) (Last Week: 11)

It was a good week for the Aigles, who move back into the top 10 after wins in four of their six games, outscoring their opponents, 28-15, in those victories.

9) New Jersey (39-38) (Last Week: 14)

The Jackals continued their success at home, winning all five games they played in Little Falls. Their only defeat came on the road, a 16-2 blowout loss to cross-state rival Sussex County on Saturday.

10) Sussex County (42-35) (Last Week: 6)

Sussex County nearly fell out of the top 10, losing four of six last week, losing series against Trois-Rivieres and New Jersey.

11) Evansville (41-36) (Last Week: 7)

It has been a big skid for the Otters, who have lost five straight after losing back-to-back games to close out their series against lowly Windy City and following that up with a sweep on the road in Joliet.

12) Lake Erie (38-40) (Last Week: 13)

The Crushers still have time to turn their season around and did well to get that process kickstarted with wins in four of their last six games, taking two victories each against Gateway and Florence.

13) Gateway (37-41) (Last Week: 9)

Gateway falls out of the top 10 after a challenging week, one in which they dropped four straight before a Sunday success against the Wild Things.

14) Florence (32-45) (Last Week: 12)

Florence's freefall largely continued this past week. They finally snapped a six-game losing streak with an impressive 6-0 shutout win over Lake Erie on Sunday.

15) Windy City (29-48) (Last Week: 15)

The Thunderbolts went 3-4 this past week, capping off an otherwise solid week with getting swept in a doubleheader by Schaumburg.

16) Empire State (5-73) (Last Week: 16)

They're 5-73. So. This seems obvious.
