2022 Frontier League Power Rankings
Washington Wild Things Remain On Top
The Wild Things remain on top of the very unofficial FloBaseball Frontier League power rankings for a second consecutive week, and deservingly so, now owning the best record on the circuit for the first time all season.
1) Washington (47-25) (Last Week: 1)
The Wild Things have emerged as a legitimate championship contender over the past few weeks and have remained hot of late, winning of eight of their last 10 games. That includes taking four out of six games in their most recent homestand against Gateway and Lake Erie.
2) Ottawa (43-29) (Last Week: 3)
Ottawa has climbed right back into the race for the East Division lead. The Titans won three of their five games this week, including taking the series against Sussex County with a 6-4 win on Sunday.
3) Quebec (46-26) (Last Week: 2)
A superpower at home with a 28-8 record, the Capitales are merely a .500 team on the road and were accordingly swept by the Jackals in the Garden State this past week.
4) New York (39-32) (Last Week: 10)
The Boulders climb up six spots this week as one of the league's hottest teams, having won eight of their last 10 games, just like Washington. That includes six straight against Trois-Rivieres and Empire State this past week, outscoring them 65-26 along the way.
5) Tri-City (39-32) (Last Week: 6)
Another franchise with a huge discrepancy between home (27-13) and road (12-19) record, the ValleyCats have stayed hot at home like you'd expect, taking four out of five this week against Ottawa and New Jersey.
6) Sussex (41-31) (Last Week: 5)
The Miners saw their four-game winning streak snapped this weekend, as they dropped the final two contests in their series in Ottawa.
7) Evansville (40-31) (Last Week: 7)
Evansville stays put this week after splitting their six-game slate, taking two out of three against Lake Erie, but ultimately dropping the series in Gateway.
8) Schaumburg (38-32) (Last Week: 8)
The Boomers have won three straight but stay put in the power rankings, given that sweep was against the lowly Windy City Thunderbolts.
9) Gateway (35-37) (Last Week: 11)
After dropping two of three to the red-hot Wild Things, the Grizzlies recovered nicely by taking the series in Evansville with back-to-back wins on the weekend.
10) Joliet (35-36) (Last Week: 9)
Joliet took three of five this past week, including claiming the series at home against Florence by bookending 4-3 wins on Friday and Sunday.
11) Trois-Rivieres (38-34) (Last Week: 4)
The Aigles came crashing back down this past week, getting swept out of the gate by the Boulders before scoring back-to-back wins in Quebec to start their series against the Capitales.
12) Florence (31-40) (Last Week: 13)
Florence split their six games during the week, alternating wins and losses, including two double-digit run outbursts in victories on Thursday and Saturday.
13) Lake Erie (34-38) (Last Week: 12)
The Crushers were crushed, dropping both series and four of six games overall, ending up on the short end of the stick to both Evansville and Washington.
14) New Jersey (34-37) (Last Week: 14)
An up-and-down season for the Jackals perhaps can be captured in the nutshell that was last week - a sweep of a very strong Quebec team to start it off, followed by getting swept by Tri-City to quickly squash that momentum.
15) Windy City (26-44) (Last Week: 16)
The season has seemingly gotten away from the Thunderbolts, who now have lost four straight heading into Tuesday's resumption of play against Evansville.
16) Empire State (5-67) (Last Week: 15)
It's back to last for the Greys, who have now dropped seven straight after winning two consecutive ballgames for the first time all season long the previous week in Windy City.
