A best-of-five series for the Frontier League championship has become a best-of-three showdown.

The Quebec Capitales got out to an early lead and never looked back, stunning the Schaumburg Boomers with a 6-3 road win in Game 1 of the Frontier League Championship Series, as seen exclusively on FloBaseball.

The Frontier League announces its awards for the 2022 Season. This season’s awards are headlined by Tri-City’s infielder, Brantley Bell, who was named the Most Valuable Player. Quebec Capitales starting pitcher Miguel Cienfuegos won the Pitcher of the Year Award. The Jason Simontacchi Award for Rookie of the Year goes to Washington Wild Thing’s Kobe Foster. The Washington Wild Things were selected as the Organization of the Year. Charles Demers of the Quebec Capitales was awarded the Bob Wolfe Executive of the Year award.

The Ottawa Titans went 5-2 this week, and their outfielder Jacob Sanford made major contributions to that run. Florence went 2-3, and their pitcher Griffin Baker excelled in his lone appearance. Sanford is this week’s Player of the Week while Baker is Pitcher of the Week.

The ValleyCats went 4-1 this week due in no small part to Denis Phipps. While the Jackals, who went 3-3, had a pitcher who shined in his appearance. Tri-City's Phipps is this week’s Player of the Week while the Jackals' Yasel Santana is Pitcher of the Week.

Steve Brown of the Trois-Rivières Aigles is this week's Frontier League Player of the Week, while Kobey Schlotman of the Schaumburg Boomers is the Pitcher of the Week.

After the Boulders went 6-0 this week, their outfielder didn't disappoint.

After a short week from the All-Star break, the Lake Erie Crushers went 1- 2, and their outfielder did not disappoint. The Joliet Slammers went 3-0, and their pitcher excelled in his appearance.
