Charleston's Privette Earns Second-Team All-America Honors
Charleston sophomore relief pitcher William Privette was selected to the Collegiate Baseball All-America second team on Thursday.

Charleston sophomore relief pitcher William Privette was selected to the Collegiate Baseball All-America second team on Thursday.
Privette had a sensational season for the Cougars, going 3-1 with a league-high 12 saves. The 2022 CAA Pitcher of the Year led the nation and set a CAA single-season record with a 0.91 earned run average. He was also second in Division I with a 0.78 WHIP. Privette struck out 80 batters over 59.1 innings and only walked 15.
The right-hander didn’t allow a run in 18 of his 24 appearances. Privette led a Charleston pitching staff that had a league-best 3.23 ERA in conference games. The Cougars went 37-19 overall and captured the CAA regular-season title for the first time since 2015 after going 19-5 in league play.
