The 2018 national champion Oregon State Beavers are ready to get back to the diamond after a disappointing 2019 run in Omaha and a pandemic-shortened season in 2020 in which they struggled to a 5-9 record. But make no mistake, with placers like ace pitcher Kevin Abel, this team is ready to make noise once again.

Head coach Mitch Canham will get his team ready for the 2021 Sanderson For College Classic with matchups against Kansas State, New Mexico, Gonzaga, and Kansas State again in consecutive days. The tournament will give the Beavers a chance to test their pitchers and hitters at the beginning of the college campaign with eyes on bigger things at the end of the seaon.

Abel for one is clear on his goals: “My sole focus is on winning and getting this team back to Omaha,” the pitcher said. “I think if we can do that, it will show how much I’ve progressed and who I really am.”
