No. 4 Mississippi State Baseball heads to Arlington, Texas, this weekend with a 9-0 record after a dominant 16-3 run-rule victory over Austin Peay on Tuesday at Dudy Noble Field.
The Diamond Dawgs pounded out 16 hits and scored in five of six at-bats to overwhelm the Governors in seven innings. After allowing a run in the first, Mississippi State responded quickly, tying the game in the second before erupting for five runs in the third to take control. The Bulldogs added two runs in the fourth, four in the fifth and three in the sixth to trigger the 10-run rule.
