Nebraska Baseball visits Arlington, Texas, this weekend looking to rebound after closing opening weekend with an 11-6 loss to Stanford in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Huskers (3-1) collected 13 hits in Monday’s setback, highlighted by a 4-for-4 performance from Mac Moyer, who doubled twice. Jett Buck and Joshua Overbeek added two hits and a double each, while Dylan Carey also had two hits.

Cole Kitchens delivered a two-RBI double, and Will Jesske launched a two-run homer as Nebraska battled back from an early deficit.

Stanford scored six runs in the first inning and extended the lead to 9-0 before the Big Red answered with four runs in the third and two more in the fifth to cut it to 9-6. The Cardinal added two insurance runs in the eighth inning.

On the mound, Pryce Bender provided stability with three innings of one-run ball, while Braxton Stewart and Auden Pankonin combined for 1.1 scoreless frames.

Nebraska now turns its attention to the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field. The Huskers open the event against No. 15 Louisville before facing Kansas State and Florida State.

Redshirt junior right-hander Cooper Katskee enters the weekend with national recognition after earning fourth-team preseason All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. 

Katskee went 11-2 with a 3.08 ERA and three complete games last season at Miami (Ohio), striking out 70 batters in 84.2 innings while holding opponents to a .196 average.
