The Wolverines are coming off a strong opening weekend in Arizona, where they went 3-1 and won the inaugural College Baseball Series in Surprise. Their only loss came in a 10-inning rematch with Oregon State.
Pitching has led the way early. Michigan owns a 3.00 ERA through four games, ranking near the top of the conference. Tate Carey remains unbeaten in his career at 9-0, while Cade Montgomery impressed in his debut with 6.1 innings of no earned runs. Senior Kurt Barr added seven strong innings in his first start. In the bullpen, Gavin DeVooght and Shane Brinham have handled late-inning duties.
At the plate, Brenden Stressler leads the team with a .500 average, while Haeger and Cade Ladehoff have provided extra-base power and clutch production.
Florida State enters ranked No. 16 nationally, Louisville brings postseason experience, and Kansas State is off to a 4-0 start. It’s another résumé-building weekend for Michigan — and fans can watch every pitch live on FloCollege.
