The Michigan Baseball (3-1) team pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the first weekend of the 2026 college baseball season in Surprise, Ariz., and now is looking for more surprises in Arlington.

The Wolverines, picked to finish outside the top six in the Big Ten during the preseason, beat No. 12 Oregon State 5-3 at the College Baseball Series’ Arizona location on Opening Day. They then beat Stanford 7-6 and No. 24 Arizona 4-1 to hammer home the weekend.

If the Oregon State win was a fluke, it didn’t seem like it. Michigan took the now-No. 11 Beavers to 10 innings on Monday before losing its first game, 5-4.

Up next are two more ranked teams at the second weekend of the College Baseball Series. The Wolverines will play teams from the ACC and Big 12 at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series Weekend 2.
