The No. 10 TCU baseball team looked to close their opening weekend at Globe Life Field out with a third win, this time against the 2-0 and cruising Oklahoma team after their huge win in Bedlam

Oklahoma had other plans, though, securing yet another 10+ run win.

The 2026 Shriners Children's College Showdown was packed with excitement.

TCU's three runs in the top of the eighth against No. 23 Vanderbilt helped open their season with a win on Friday.

Then, the Horned Frogs defeated No. 7 Arkansas after taking an early four run lead and holding on as Arkansas tried to scrape their way back into the game.

That all came to a stop on Sunday night when Oklahoma's offensive firepower turned out too strong to tamp down.

The Shriners Children’s College Showdown was the first of three events at the 2026 College Baseball Series, which will bring 18 top-tier teams to GLF between now and March 1, and all of the action will unfold live on FloCollege and the FloSports app.

Oklahoma Wins, Shriners Showdown Champs! - Bottom of 7th

Oklahoma 11, TCU 2

TCU brought in Tyler Phenow to try to extend the game to an 8th inning but it was short lived.

Branch opened with a lead-off single.

Walk tried to cannon it out of the park but it dropped in left field to Eaton before Camden Johnson came up to bat.

Johnson hit a hard bouncer over the mound to send Branch to third and advanced to second himself on the throw.

Deiten Lachance hit the walk-off with a line drive to left field that Eaton dropped to bring in Kyle Branch and secure the dub for Oklahoma.

TCU at Bat - Top of 7th

Oklahoma 11, TCU 2

OU makes a defensive replacement, bringing in Dasan Harris for Nolan Stevens at right field.

Four pitches and three strikes later, Jones gets his first K of the inning.

Camden Johnson brought down the two-hopper from Eaton, made the throw at first.

Three up and three down after the infield grounder by Cramer gets him out at first.

OU at Bat - Bottom of 6th

Oklahoma 11, TCU 2

Willits walked to start the inning.

Stevens hits a fly ball out to center but Strosnider made the catch, racing under the ball.

Brock gets struck out swinging chasing a high fast ball.

Gambill walks for his sixth time this weekend, the second of the inning.

Ethan Thomas found a third out, striking out Tockey swinging.

Jones In For OU, TCU At Bat - Top of 6th

Oklahoma 11, TCU 2

With the ten-run gap, we're now in run rule territory but we have to get to the 7th inning first.

Gavyn Jones takes the mound to relieve Cord Rager in a fantastic debut performance—5 IP with 8 Ks.

Jones is a left-handed junior from White Oak, Texas.

Sawyer Strosnider hit a hard single to left field to start the inning for the Frogs.

Brunson muscled a base hit out, hitting a line drive up the left side to the wall.

Brunson advanced to third on a wild pitch, bringing in Strosnider in for TCU's first run since the opening inning.

Brunson got caught napping at third and Lachance snapped the ball over instead of returning it to Jones. Two outs.

Franco struck out swinging.

Liddington walked on the next pitch.

Traeger walked on the next at bat, leaving the full count.

Grounder hit to shortstop, fielder's choice to second for the end of the away half of the 6th.

Oklahoma Opens Up - Bottom of 5th

Oklahoma 11, TCU 1

Baumler is back out on the mound with OU's 6th in the order at bat, Brendan Brock, 1-2 today with an RBI and two steals.

The officials head back to the replay booth after Brock hit a hard grounder to third. Bell fumbled the initial grab but made the play at first, called out on the play.

The call was overturned, safe.

Brock stole second to tally his third of the game.

Four pitch walk to Gambill for Baumler after another timeout and coaches visit to the mound.

OU tacked in another run with a Tockey single out to right field. Baumler is all done as things continue to fall out of TCU's control.

Ethan Thomas takes the mound next for the Horned Frogs. He's a right-handed sophomore out of Alameda, CA.

On Thomas's third pitch, Kyle Branch hits a three-run home run just barely over the fence to give Oklahoma the 10-run lead.

Thomas struck out walk.

Johnson continued the onslaught with a single.

TCU At Bat - Top of 5th

Oklahoma 7, TCU 1

Rager keeps his spot on the mound and Nolan Traeger kicks things off for the Horned Frogs as they stare down a massive six-run deficit.

Traeger hit a hard grounder up the middle but Willits, right off of his RBI in the last inning, makes the play to first.

Rager walked Jack Arthur, only his second of the game which brought out a timeout.

Jack Bell was then walked to advance Arthur to second.

Eaton launched it into left field, Gambill made the grab.

Cole Cramer struck out swinging to close out the inning and add Cord Rager's 8th K of outstanding debut.

Back To Back Doubles For OU - Bottom of 4th

Oklahoma 7, TCU 1

Sophomore Trever Baumler entered the game to replace Lance Davis. He's a 6-3 righty from Urbandale, Iowa. In 2025, he had 7 IP and 6 Ks.

Tockey chased a four-seam fastball up high for Baumler's first K of the game.

Branch hit a flier out to right center that was handled well.

Jason Walk was hit in the helmet by a fastball that got out of control of Baumler to send him to first.

Walk stole second and reached for the back of the bag while raising his inside arm as Franco went for the tag.

He was called safe but Franco wanted the challenge, which the officials reviewed for an extended period.

Call confirmed after review.

Traeger tallied another error with a bad threw to second base as Walk was getting a lead-off. The errant throw gave him the time he needed to get to third.

Deiten Lachance smashed a double to left field which brought in Jason Walk and Camden Johnson all the way from first. Lachance on second with two outs.

Jaxon Willits followed it up with his own double that bounced down the right field line to bring in Lachance for OU's 7th run.

Nolans lined out up the middle, Franco with the catch.

3 runs, 2 hits, 1 error, 1 left on base for a massive 4th inning for OU.

TCU At Bat - Top of 4th

Oklahoma 4, TCU 1

Chase Brunson hit a single that bounced through the infield into the grass.

Franco struck out swinging at the low slider from Cord Rager.

Fastball upstairs completes the second K of the inning on Rob Liddington Jr.

Lechance threw a pick out to second with Brunson stealing second and the call on the play was an out.

TCU challenged the call and the call was upheld to close it out.

Safe or Out? You Make The Call

Oklahoma At Bat - Bottom of 3rd

Oklahoma 4, TCU 1

Cole Eaton gets to earn his stay to close out the third inning with two fly balls hit deep out to left field.

One from Jaxon Willits and one from Nolan Stevens.

Brendan Brock, after his earlier RBI, continues to pour on the pressure with a single to center field.

Brock stole second but the pick to second went flying past Cramer to send Brock to third.

It was all for naught, though, Gambill was out at first on a short grounder to Liddington.

Rager Makes Quick Work - Top of 3rd

Oklahoma 4, TCU 1

Oklahoma returns to defense with a three run lead and Rager on the mound with 4 Ks already.

Cole Eaton hit a grounder to shortstop for the first out of the inning.

Cole Cramer hit a fly ball out to center field with the 3-1 count.

To finish, Rager struck out Strosnider swinging.

Oklahoma, Johnson Two-Run Homer! - Bottom of 2nd

Oklahoma 4, TCU 1

Tocky flies out to right field.

Branch grounded out to second base, Cramer making the easy play to first.

Walk hit his third in ten trips to the plate with a deep line drive past Rob Liddington Jr.'s reach up the line.

Camden Johnson hit a beauty, a home run to right field that bounced off the interior sign of the foul pole for two more runs on the board.

Lachance hit a fly ball out to left field for the third out, OU by 3 after two.

TCU Strikes Back - Top of 2nd

Oklahoma 2, TCU 1

To open the second, Rager walked Lucas Franco.

Liddington Jr. hit a single down the left field line before stealing second to put runners on 2nd and 3rd.

Nolan Traeger sent up a sacrifice fly to bring in the first Horned Frogs run of the evening.

Jack Arthur popped up to the infield for the second out.

With a full count, Rager struck out Jack Bell for the final out.

Nolan Stevens Hits In First Run For Sooners

Oklahoma Offense Rolling - Bottom of 1st

Oklahoma 2, TCU 0

Same order as the first two games for Oklahoma.

A slider secures Lance Davis's first K of the day on Jason Walk for the opening out.

Camden Johnson hit a hard drive to left field over to deep 3rd base, Jack Bell recovered it for a single.

Johnson stole second on the next pitch, his second of the weekend.

Four pitch walk follows to send Lechance to first, runner on first and second.

With Jaxon Willits up to bat, after five pitches, Davis throws another four balls and bases are loaded for Oklahoma.

Nolan Stevens hit it to center field to run Johnson in to home and score Oklahoma's first run of the night.

Brendan Brock hit it to second base, leading home a second run but TCU made the out at second. He stole second successfully.

Trey Gambill grounded out to second base to flip the field.

Three Up, Three Down - Top of 1st

Rager settles in, strikes out Cole Cramer looking.

He followed it up with a second, getting Sawyer Strosnider next.
