Last year, the Red Raiders had five players taken in the MLB Draft, but the last player taken in the first three rounds was catcher and corner infielder Kevin Bazzell in 2024, the same year he starred for the Red Raiders at the College Baseball Series.
Logan Hughes is almost certainly going to be in that range, if not better.
The outfielder is the No. 4-ranked prospect in the Big 12 according to Baseball America.
Here are the top prospects for Texas Tech in 2026.

Here are the top prospects playing during opening weekend of the college baseball season at Globe Life Field.
Logan Hughes, Texas Tech Baseball, OF (No. 84-ranked prospect)
Hughes, a 6-foot, 185-pound outfielder, began his career at Stetson before transferring to Texas Tech, where he hit 19 home runs in a breakout 2025 season.
A strong lefthanded hitter, he combines contact skills with power to all fields, and his underlying batted-ball data ranks among the best in the class. He profiles as a corner outfielder with some first-base experience.
Top 2027 MLB Draft Eligible Prospects At The College Baseball Showdown
These players aren't eligible to be drafted in July 2026, but they will be among the most watched players in college baseball this season, according to Baseball America.
Linkin Garcia, Texas Tech Baseball, SS
Linkin Garcia, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound shortstop at Texas Tech, surged into draft conversations after a standout fall in which he hit .550 with four home runs in more than 50 at-bats. He recorded multiple exit velocities of 110 mph or better and showed an advanced feel for the barrel.
Garcia offers an intriguing hit-power combination and has the range and arm strength to stick at shortstop, with third base as a potential future fit.
