College baseball fans won’t have to wait long to see Vanderbilt Baseball in a high-stakes environment to open the 2026 season, as the Commodores headline opening weekend of the Shriners Children’s College Showdown, streaming live on FloCollege, FloBaseball and the FloSports app. 

Vanderbilt’s entire three-game weekend at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, will be part of the College Baseball Series, giving the Commodores a national stage right out of the gate.

Vanderbilt, ranked No. 23 in the D1Baseball Preseason Rankings, opens the Division I college baseball season on Feb. 13 against No. 10 TCU. It marks the Commodores’ return to the College Baseball Showdown for the first time since 2023, and the opening slate is as challenging as any in the country. 

Along with the Horned Frogs, Vanderbilt will face Texas Tech and Oklahoma State, three of the Big 12’s premier programs.

The Commodores, the 2019 College World Series champions, don’t often begin a season outside the top 20 and will have an immediate opportunity to climb the rankings with a strong showing in Arlington. Picked to finish fourth in what is widely viewed as one of the most competitive leagues in NCAA athletics, Vanderbilt enters the weekend looking to build on its 2-1 performance at Globe Life in 2023.
