The Coastal Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Tournament is set to begin on March 13 in Washington D.C. with the championship game being played on March 17. 

All 14 teams will compete for an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, which begins with the First Four on March 20 and ends on April 7 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Last year, No.7 seed Monmouth defeated No.1 seed Towson 80-55 in the 2023 CAA Tournament Championship. This earned the Hawks their first CAA conference title in school history and a berth to the NCAA Women’s Tournament for the first time in 40 years.

When Is The 2024 CAA Women ’s Basketball Tournament

The 2024 CAA Women's Basketball Championship will be held from March 13-17 in Washington D.C. 

Seeding for the tournament will be set at the end of the CAA regular season on March 9.

The CAA Women’s tournament will be returning to Washington, D.C. All games will be held at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.

Women’s 2024 CAA Basketball Tournament Schedule

All Times Eastern

• Round 1 will begin Wednesday, March 13 with game one at 2 p.m. Game two will be played at 4:30 p.m.
• Round 2 will begin Thursday, March 14 with four games from 12 p.m.-7:30 p.m. 
• Quarterfinals will begin Friday, March 15 with four games from 12 p.m.-7:30 p.m. 
• Semifinals will begin Saturday, March 16 at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. 
• The championship game will begin Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m.

When Does The 2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament Start?

The tournament will begin with Selection Sunday on March 17, followed by the First Four on March 20-21. 

After the opening round is complete, the field will be set with the top 64 teams and the first round will start on March 22-23.

What Is Selection Sunday?

Selection Sunday is the day the NCAA committee releases the full tournament bracket initial seeding of all 68 teams. 

Thirty-two teams will automatically qualify for the tournament by winning their conference tournament. 

That leaves 36 other teams fighting for an at-large bid from the selection committee, which is considered through multiple stats and rankings to determine who receives the at-large bid.
