WEEKLY HONORS

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Corinne Badger, Stony Brook

Senior | Catcher | Pleasant Valley, New York / Arlington

Badger hit .470 (8-for-17) and posted a .500 on-base percentage, recording three homers, six runs batted in and four runs scored for Stony Brook at the FIU Classic. 

The tournament was highlighted by the senior catcher going 3-for-3 with three home runs, four RBIs and three runs scored in a run-rule victory over Stonehill. 

She became the third player in the NCAA with a three-home run game this spring. 

Badger recorded at least one hit in all five games over the weekend and extended her hitting streak to eight games.  

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Jessica Schable, Drexel

Senior | Blairstown, New Jersey / Blair Academy   

Schable picked up both wins for the Dragons in the circle, going 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA in 14 innings of work at the Red Storm Classic. 

In her first start, the senior right-hander went the distance, scattering six hits and allowing two earned runs, while striking out three in a 6-2 win over Quinnipiac. 

Schable followed the performance with a complete-game shutout against the host St. John’s in the weekend finale. She picked up three punchouts and allowed three hits in a 3-0 win. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Sierra Baldwin, North Carolina A&T

Freshman | Catcher | Lawton, Michigan / Battle Creek Central HS

Baldwin batted .462 (6-for-13) with three RBIs and three runs scored for North Carolina A&T at the Gamecock Invitational. 

The freshman catcher tallied hits in 3-of-4 games, including two multi-hit performances. 

Baldwin went 3-for-4 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored against Columbia to open the weekend and concluded the tournament with a 2-for-4 performance with two runs scored against UNCW. She also recorded a double, going 1-for-3 against Illinois. 

CONFERENCE NOTES

CONFERENCE PLAY IS ON THE WAY 

• CAA play starts this weekend with four conference series, beginning on Saturday. 

Delaware and Towson head south, as the Blue Hens face Charleston, and the Tigers take on UNCW. 

Newcomer Stony Brook will open its CAA tenure against Elon, and Hampton hosts Monmouth in a battle of conference newcomers. 


TEAM NOTES

Charleston 

• Shealyn Starks paced the Cougar lineup with a team-best .417 batting average. Starks recorded five hits over the weekend and led the team with three RBIs.

• Peyton Lemire tossed 14 innings and posted a 0.50 ERA, despite picking up a pair of losses. Lemire tallied nine punchouts, allowing just one earned run in back-to-back complete-game efforts. 

• Caroline Carter went 1-0 in the circle with a 0.78 ERA. The freshman right-hander tossed nine innings, including a complete-game shutout.

Delaware

• Julz Garber batted a team-best .467, recording a team-high seven hits with three runs scored. She tallied at least one hit in all four games, extending her hitting streak to seven straight. Garber has five multi-hit efforts during that span.

• Kiara Mills hit .308 over the weekend with four hits, a team-high seven RBIs and three runs scored. Mills had at least two RBIs in three straight games to end the weekend and leads the CAA with 14 RBIs.  

• Katie Sheivert tallied five hits, batting .357 for the tournament, and scored a team-high six runs. She also added four RBIs. 

Drexel 

• Jessica Schable picked up both wins for the Dragons in the circle, going 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA in 14 innings of work. She pitched back-to-back complete games, including a shutout, recording six punchouts on the weekend. 

• Ashley Errico batted a team-best .300 and had a .417 on-base percentage. She picked up three hits, including two doubles and recorded a team-high three RBIs.

• Izzy Alamillo tallied a team-high four hits, batting .286 for the weekend. Alamillo matched a team-best with two runs scored and added one RBI.  

Elon 

• Claudia Penny posted a team-high .357 on-base percentage and was tied for the team lead, hitting .250. She recorded three hits, including two solo homers, and tallied two RBIs and two runs scored. 

• Bella Devesa matched a team-high with three hits and a .250 batting average. 

Kaitlyn Wells was tied for the team lead with two runs scored, and Megan Grant also added two RBIs.

• In the circle, Meredith Wells pitched a team-high 12 innings. She appeared in three games, posting a 2.33 ERA and collecting six strikeouts. 

Hampton 

• Carmyn Thompson batted .462 to lead the Hampton lineup. Thompson recorded a team-high six hits with two runs scored. Additionally, she posted a .533 on-base percentage.  

• Kayla Domon hit .333 for the Lady Pirates, recording a team-high three runs batted in. Domon tallied five hits, including two triples, and scored two runs over the weekend. 

• Nicole Ley and Emily Kepple each recorded three hits over the weekend. Kepple added two RBIs, while Ley hit .333 with a double, one run scored and one RBI.  

Hofstra 

• Meghan Giordano batted .308 to lead the Hofstra lineup, slugging .846 with a .400 on-base percentage. Giordano tallied four hits, including two homers, with four RBIs and four runs scored. 

• Nikki Mullin went 3-0 in the circle with a 1.08 ERA. She tossed a team-high 13 innings, allowing two earned runs, while striking out seven in her work. 

• Chelsea Manto matched the team lead with four hits and a .308 batting average. Manto had two doubles, while adding three stolen bases, three runs scored and three RBIs. 

Monmouth 

• Bri Lawson recorded three hits and a .250 batting average. The freshman posted a .308 on-base percentage and tallied her first career multi-hit effort over the weekend.

• Kiley O’Rourke matched a team-high with three hits, going 3-for-5 at the plate. She recorded hits in back-to-back games, including a multi-hit effort. It marks her first three hits this spring.  

• Emily Spencer recorded the lone RBI for the Hawks, and Riley Riendeau scored Monmouth’s lone run. It marks the first RBI for Spencer this season, while it was Riendeau’s second run scored. 

North Carolina A&T

• Sierra Baldwin batted .462 (6-13) with three RBIs and three runs scored for North Carolina A&T. The freshman catcher tallied hits in 3-of-4 games, including two multi-hit performances. 

• Dezianna Patmon hit .455, slugging .727 with a .571 on-base percentage. Patmon tallied five hits, including three doubles, with two RBIs. She recorded at least one hit in all four games, extending her hitting streak to five. 

• Megan Ellis went 1-0 in the circle with a 0.88 ERA. She picked up her first career win in a complete-game effort against UNCW. 

UNCW

• Kara Hammock went 1-1 in the circle for UNCW, picking up the winning decision for the Seahawks. Hammock tossed 11 innings across two appearances with a 1.91 ERA and eight strikeouts.  

• In the circle, Janel Gamache tossed five innings and posted a 1.40 ERA with seven strikeouts. 

In addition, she hit .308, recording four hits with two runs scored and one RBI.

• Morgan Britt tallied a team-high six hits and led the team with a .429 batting average. Three hits went for extra bases, including two doubles and a triple. 

Stony Brook 

• Corinne Badger hit .471 (8-17) and posted a .500 on-base percentage, recording three homers, six runs batted in, and four runs scored for Stony Brook. Badger recorded at least one hit in all five games over the weekend and extended her hitting streak to eight games.

• Shauna Nuss batted a team-best .583. She tallied seven hits with two RBIs and two runs scores. She recorded at least one hit in four of five games, including two multi-hit efforts.

• Alicia Orosco had a team-high five runs scored and added four RBIs. Orosco batted .333 with six hits, including three doubles. 

Towson 

• Mackenzie Lake hit .500, going 5-for-10 at the plate. She tallied one double and one triple, recording two RBIs and one run scored. Lake extended her hitting streak to eight games and has at least one in 10-of-11 games this spring.

• Madyson Peters went 5-for-10 at the plate, hitting .500 for the weekend. She recorded two doubles and her first home run this season. Additionally, Peters had two RBIs and one run scored. 

• Maddie Gardner went 1-1 in the circle posting a 2.10 ERA with 14 strikeouts. She tossed 10 innings total, including a complete game with a season-high 12 strikeouts in Towson’s victory.
